Services to Member School Districts, Charter Schools and Private Schools
 
The following services are available for Co-op member school districts, charter schools and private schools.
 
  • Discovery Education (http://streaming.discoveryeducation.com) Over 8,300 video titles, over 83,000 digital video clips, and over 2,000 still images are available for streaming or downloading. The programs are searchable by keyword, subject area and grade level, and by content area TEKS. Teacher’s guides and student activities are available instantly.

  • Nettrekker d.i. (http://school.nettrekker.com) – provides safe, fast, easy access to over 180,000 standards-based, educator-selected, online resources
  • NewsBank (http://infoweb.newsbank.com) - includes NewsBank, NewsBank Kids Page, Archive of Texas History and Big6 Resource Center. Resources include domestic newspapers, international sources, journals, reports, publications, transcripts, government documents, historical documents and a map collection.
  • World Book Web Complete Suite (http://www.worldbookonline.com ) -includes World Book Kids, World Book Student [formerly Online Reference Center], World Book Advanced, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos, World Book Dictionary and World Book Atlas. Also have access to Gran Enciclopedia Hispánica and Early Peoples.
  • Britannica Curriculum Package - includes World Data Analyst Online for quick and easy comparisons of countries, Webster's Third New  International Dictionary Unabridged Online, and Annals of American History Online for original source documents from U.S. History.
  • State Funded Databases - The campuses receive support and training for the state funded databases: EBSCO K-12 Package and Encyclopaedia Britannica Online School Edition.  These databases are not state-funded for private schools but are provided in the Co-op package for private schools.
  • Staff Development Workshops - Scheduled workshops are free or offered at a reduced cost for Co-op members. Any member school district, charter school or private school may request on-site staff development at no charge. The number of days per district is based on student enrollment (one half day to four days).
  • District Library Coordinator meetings The Region One librarian meets regularly with the district library coordinators to keep the library community informed on TEA library initiatives and library program best practices.

  • Support for School LibrariansOur Region One certified librarian provides free on-site and telephone support for librarians in Co-op member districts, charter schools and private schools.
  • Fall Media Fair and Spring Meeting - Region One ESC coordinates and hosts the Fall Media Fair and Spring Meeting for librarians.
  • Library Purchasing Co-opThe Region One Library Purchasing Co-op includes library books, library supplies, library furniture, audiovisual software, audiovisual equipment, and audiovisual equipment repair.

  • Textbook Adoptions - Set up and display textbooks up for adoption for the public to view.
 
Yearly Fees
School Districts - $3.00 per student enrollment
Charter Schools - $3.00 per student enrollment
Private Schools - $4.50 per student enrollment ($450.00 minimum)
